The Compassion Gardens Project is a crucial aspect of our our goal to create a sustainable community for the orphans of Masoyi. This project is aimed at helping to fight malnutrition in Masoyi, while simultaneously teaching the skill of gardening to members of the community. Masoyi currently has one garden (pictured), and eight other areas designated for future vast, communal vegetable gardens. These gardens will grow green beans, cabbage, lettuce, pumpkins and other nutritious vegetables to help support the entire community. With your help, these eight new vegetable gardens can become a reality!
With a one-time gift, your community can sponsor the creation of a Compassion Garden in Masoyi! Your gift will provide soil, fertilizer, water, vegetable seeds, garden tools and chicken wire for this one acre garden. It will also teach 10 teenage orphans the skill of gardening, which will include knowledge that can be passed down to future generations to provide long-term help. Update: Reagan High School (Pfafftown, North Carolina) has stepped up to the plate by funding the first Compassion Garden in Masoyi, South Africa! Reagan raised the funds to sponsor this garden by holding a friendly fundraising competition between Science and Social Studies classes.
Reagan made a remarkable difference in the lives of countless orphans and vulnerable children in a little over one week, and they had fun doing it! Reagan took the challenge head on and set the bar high for the rest of us!
