Why Fad Diets Are Bad
Fad Diets are everywhere. Promoted on early morning infomercials, multi-level marketing, internet advertising and beyond, fad diets promise easy miracle solutions to lose weight. Why Fad Diets are bad is because they do not address the problems that caused you to gain weight in the first place. If you don't learn about sustainable diet strategies, the right types of exercise, and how to build an effective support system, you will quickly gain the weight back you lost, and perhaps more, when you return to old lifestyle habits.
Most importantly, fad diets are bad because they don’t work in the real world, and don’t properly arm you to succeed in the long term. They pit your will power against huge forces of your genes and your calorically excessive environment – and willpower alone is no match. That is why most diets fail so miserably.
Many fad diets promise no need for exercise, or quick and easy weight loss. If a fad diet sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The Gene Smart Program
The strategies in The Gene Smart Program, are designed to work with our genes, especially our inflammatory genes, to bring our bodies back under our control. Gene Smart is not a fad diet. It’s worth noting that more than 90 percent of our Gene Smart study participants stayed on the program until the very end, a rate of success that is three times higher or more than typical commercial weight loss programs. Perhaps more impressively, 74 percent of this group either maintained their weight loss or continued to lose (by following the program) a full 10 weeks after we concluded our study, the last time we measured results. One participant has lost over a hundred pounds! This suggests to us that for a majority of people, Gene Smart can be the key to long-term success.
